5.B. A RESOLUTION TO INITIATE LOCAL CULTURAL RESOURCE DESIGNATION PROCEEDINGS FOR GREAT HALL/LONG HALL AND FIESTA HALL [L. MEISTER, Y. QUARKER, A. LOVANO]:<BR> SUBJECT: The City Council will consider adopting a resolution to initiate local cultural resource designation proceedings for Great Hall/Long Hall and Fiesta Hall in Plummer Park. If the resolution is approved, staff will go through the City's cultural resource designation process, which includes staff reviewing the nomination - with the assistance of a historic preservation consultant if needed - and bringing the nomination to the Historic Preservation Commission for review and consideration.

    I strongly support Item 5.B. to initiate local cultural resource designation for Great Hall/Long Hall AND Fiesta Hall in Plummer Park. These buildings are a treasured part of public life on the Eastside and represent an indispensable part of West Hollywood's history.
