ORDINANCE AMENDING THE WEST HOLLYWOOD MUNICIPAL CODE REGARDING CITY COMMISSION NAMES AND PURVIEW, AMENDING COMMISSION MEMBER ATTENDANCE AND ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS, UPDATING COMMISSION REFERENCES THROUGHOUT THE MUNICIPAL CODE, AND RESOLUTION AMENDING BOARDMEMBER ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS [J. JIMENEZ, M. CROWDER, L. MORALES, D. WILSON, L. LANGER]: SUBJECT: The City Council will introduce for first reading Ordinance No. 23-______ to amend the West Hollywood Municipal Code regarding City Commission names and purview, Commission member attendance and eligibility requirements, and Commission references throughout the Municipal Code. This ordinance is not subject to CEQA. The City Council will adopt a Resolution providing for Parental Leave for Advisory Boardmembers.

    Staff report would be improved if it fleshed out current & proposed residency requirements for all commissions. Other sources indicate 3 have residency requirements (Planning, Public Safety, Rent Stabilization) with renamed Public Facilities to now require residency. But why not require residency for all the other commissions? Is WeHo that bereft of qualified folks? We do tout ourselves as the Creative City. Let’s have vibrant community outreach and conversation to fill positions with locals!
