I support more protected bike lanes in WeHo. Right now, I feel like I cannot bike for safety reasons. With more protected bike lanes I would travel around my town in a more affordable and environmentally friendly/climate safe way. Thank you!
I would love to bike in our city but it's just too dangerous without dedicated lanes and facilities. The so-called lane on Fountain Ave is a death trap. Every time I drive past a biker there I fear for their life. I sometimes drive to Santa Monica to take advantage of their wonderful dedicated lanes, which is ridiculous considering the pollution I generate. We have perfect year round weather for biking and could make a huge impact on quality of life and climate change with your support. Thanks!
I bicycle in and through West Hollywood on an almost daily basis for errands, meetings, food and coffee, or just for fun DESPITE the danger I know I’m exposing myself to by sharing the streets with motor vehicles. I urge the city to do all it can to make cycling safer by extending bike lanes, adding protected lanes, slowing motor vehicle traffic down, and expanding cycling infrastructure in the city. People will cycle more and drive less, especially for short trips, if they feel safe. Thank you.
As someone who doesn’t drive, I often use my bike or walk around the city. The traffic on Fountain and Santa Monica is already dangerous for those in cars - for those of us on foot or bike, it could be deadly. The city can do more to meet the needs of those who use alternate transportation, especially as climate change and rising COL leads more people to use other forms of transport. Protected lanes would make a world of difference!
This is an excellent first step towards diversifying our transit options. It directly addresses the needs of residents who do not own personal vehicles (myself included) and potentially improves the options of those who do elect to drive (or use public transit) because we desperately need to reduce congestion, and building more bike lanes is the only way we can increase density per mile of roadway.
