I'm a resident of West Hollywood and write in support of 8850 Sunset for the added housing it provides. I hope this commission sees past the shameless and relentless astroturfing of "Sensibility on Sunset." Their huge spending on mailers and social media ads have blanketed the city, spurring people in opposition, just to benefit a competing hotel. Your objective consideration of the merits of this project can overcome those bad faith, dark money efforts. Thank you.

I've lived and worked in WeHo since 2009, but visited since the 90s. I'm always surprised by how little has been updated in decades. It's as if we've encased a lot of the housing and commercial buildings in amber since the 70s. I empathize with the nostalgia for the Viper Room, but that block on Sunset is very run-down and the proposed development is an appropriately sized update that will bring new residents and visitors to our city. And we do live in a CITY. This isn't Solvang, things change

As a West Hollywood renter living less than a block from Sunset Blvd, I support this project! The city desperately needs more housing at all affordability levels, and the project will deliver a lot of tax revenue and jobs as well. I urge you to vote yes!
