2.M. REQUEST TO NAME THE FUTURE THEATER AT THE CITY PLAYHOUSE IN HONOR OF THE CITY'S FORMER ARTS MANAGER ANDREW CAMPBELL [V. GUARINO, H. COLLINS, E. HAMANT]: SUBJECT: The City Council will consider a request to name the future theater at the City Playhouse the "Andrew Campbell Theater" to honor the life, work, and contributions of the City's former Arts Manager Andrew Campbell and refer the item to the City's Public Facilities, Recreation, and Infrastructure Commission for further consideration.

    While Andrew was a lovely, creative soul that helped promote the arts in our community, this is an opportunity to raise much needed funds for the theater. Private individuals and/or companies will pay millions for naming rights. We did something similar for the theater renovation in Palm Springs and a private donor paid $5M to name it. I can think of no better way to honor Andrew's ultimate dream of creating a theater program in Weho.
