I live adjacent to this lot, and I'm very happy additional units are being built in our neighborhood. When I moved to West Hollywood just out of college, living paycheck to paycheck, I was able to find good, affordable housing here, and just 16 years later it's devastating seeing similar people priced out of the area. I'm heartened to see two units are designated for lower incomes and two are rent-stabilized, but I hope all of the units will be priced to remedy the affordability crisis in WeHo.

I live near 7811 Santa Monica Blvd and request the Commission deny the waivers and require a Final EIR. The site is only 40,186 sq. ft., far below the 50,000 sq. ft. minimum required by code. The project also improperly claims an AB 130 exemption despite including a 45-room hotel, which disqualifies it under CEQA. Given the site’s long history of hazardous uses and its proximity to a daycare, a full EIR and Health Risk Assessment are necessary.
