Although I cannot be there, I'd like to cast my vote in favor of this union. Ive found the unions I've been in to be incredibly helpful not to just employees but to employers as well. Retained staff who strive to be better because for once, suggested improvement is encouraged not overshadowed by fear of job loss. Unions help lift the voices of the unheard, ensuring everyone a seat at the table and the safety to be heard. For a city that preaches inclusivity this seems like an obvious choice.

A city as progressive as Weho should take this opportunity to support city staff by recognizing our Weho Temps union. We work hard to create a beautiful and safe environment for visitors every day, but we feel disposable. Please rectify this by supporting us.

I am in full support of the temp lifeguards unionizing. They currently don't have a voice and need one to be able to advocate for themselves and better working conditions.

I 100% support the temporary lifeguards unionizing because they need to have a voice. Under the current management, they are targeted and discarded. I have been involved with aquatics since I was a child and even worked at Walt Disney World in aquatics and by far the WEHO pool is the worst environment I have ever observed. The temp lifeguards need a voice an and need to be able to collectively advocate for themselves. Please help the lifeguards. They need a voice!

I'm sorry I can't be at the meeting today, but I'm writing in support of voluntary recognition of the aquatics staff's union. Our staff works hard to guarantee the safety of others. But we ourselves do not feel safe. The FDA says to put your own oxygen mask on before helping others. This is what we are doing. Advocating for ourselves has not been easy, but in the end, I know it will uplift our community and make WeHo, the city that I love, even stronger.

On April 7 the City decides whether to verify our union authorization cards. We have majority support. The City signed a neutrality pledge in January and we have submitted everything requested.

The City's own 1986 resolution does not even recognize temporary staff as "employees." State law changed in 2024. We are asking the Council to ensure this process leads to recognition — not to more delay. Recognize WeHo Temps United.

I support the part-time workers Unionization. Please vote yes and support the employees. All workers deserve work protection, whether they work 4 hours or 40, they are people, they are the community, they are also citizens and patrons and visitors. ALL people deserve to be treated and have the utmost care of responsibility and respect. That's what unions bring, respect dignity and responsibility for workers. If it's good for full timers, why would part timers not be awarded the same care?
