I am in strong support of Agenda Item F.2. West Hollywood needs a more accessible and responsive solution for unsheltered animals. Currently, residents who find stray animals often have limited options, and existing resources do not adequately address temporary shelter, rehoming, and TNR needs locally. I support exploring partnerships with nearby organizations and believe the proposed funding is an important first step toward creating a more comprehensive animal welfare program for our community

There is nowhere in West Hollywood to take a found animal. I thought the Amanda Foundation provided this service, but that is not the case. The proposed $15,000 budget is also far too low to adequately address this need
. A larger investment would help reunite lost pets with their families, provide a safe place for found animals, and give friendly cats trapped through the TNR program a place to stay while awaiting adoption instead of being returned to the streets.
