E.1. FINANCE & BUDGET SUBCOMMITTEE MEETING: RECAP AND RECOMMENDATIONS [J. ROCCO, A. LOVANO, J. DEL TORO, W. KAHOLOKULA, M. LINDLEY]:<br>SUBJECT: The City Council will receive a recap of the Finance & Budget Subcommittee meeting held on July 6, 2026, focusing on capital improvement projects, Council travel, and annual budgeted events and co-sponsorships. The City Council will receive the Subcommittee's recommendations and provide further direction.
I am opposed to extending the credit for cannabis businesses especially the marketing part. Emerald Village has done nearly nothing for the businesses. I am in favor of killing the Sky Sanctuaries. They are poorly designed knock offs of Little Island in NYC. The only way I would be in favor of them is if they actually increased park space, people could access some of them,+ more shade. For events, why are budgets so wildly varied? Look at what community actually wants, real econ dev & attendance
