Public transport spaces should shared among all types of transportation. If there we're better sidewalks and bike lanes on Fountain I would use it more often.

Clearly this issue is completely divisive, dividing the community, with neither side happy. The pro-bike lane side has given into zero compromises, instead ramming this plan down the throats of those who are opposed. The anti-bike lane side also seems unwilling to compromise. A completely new plan should be done, with this one scrapped. The process should be done completely differently, so the perception of bias is eliminated and there is actual community input.

i oppose this project as is. there needs to be more research into left turn lanes or a center lane. There also needs to be more enforcement of current rules rather than creating more rules that will not be enforced.

I fully support enhancing bicycle safety on Fountain as it is a key thoroughfare for east/west travel. While lower traffic relative to nearby alternatives, much can be improved to improve safety and give more cyclists confidence to choose the 2 wheeled alternative.

Overall, it is a brilliant idea to install a dedicated bike lane on Fountain. There are many advantages to a protected bike lane improve business access to more people, since bicycles can fit more people in the same amount of space. Also, this would be more inviting to more people, since there are more chances to improve the area around it as well. There is more safety with lower speeds and less conflict points with private vehicles.

I've driven and ridden a bike on Fountain for decades. Right now it is both a designated bike route and a road that people use to try to bypass Sunset and drive at very high speeds. I fully support the street being reconfigured for the safety of all users, it's too easy and tempting for drivers to speed through there as it's currently designed.

I use Fountain daily, and its current design is unsafe for everyone. Speeding and cut-through traffic dominate this corridor, putting lives at risk. The proposed redesign adds protected bike lanes, ADA-compliant sidewalks, and safer crosswalks, which will slow speeding cars, reduce crashes, cut pollution, and encourage walking and biking. This project will save and improve lives, reflect our city’s progressive values, and create a safer, healthier community. I support this. Please approve.

I urge you to approve this project. It is essential for our community's safety.

From 2013-2024, there were 35 severe injuries and 5 fatalities on this street. The current high-speed design puts lives at risk for the benefit of cut-through traffic, which makes up 64% of trips.

This redesign will make Fountain safer for everyone with protected bike lanes and high-visibility crosswalks. The safety of our community is not worth the price we are paying. Please approve this project.

The individual neighborhoods have sufficient enough paths for bicycles within their own neighborhoods but LA is severely lacking Bike infrastructure between them. I support this movement.

This proposal is a net good for pedestrians and cyclists as well as motorists who care about safety and a more livable City.

I support Fountain avenue bike lanes to decrease traffic, increase safety, increase commerce, and increase the ability for locals to enjoy the city.

There is not even a single safe East-West corridor to ride a bicycle from WeHo to Silverlake. This represents a major safety and infrastructure gap that divides LA in two. If this lane existed, I would be riding my bike east every weekend to visit businesses and explore LA! A 26 year old was killed by a car on Fountain while riding his bike earlier this year, and I have been too afraid to go since. Fountain is treated like a race track by cars avoiding Santa Monica Blvd. This is 100% needed!

I fully support the plan to add more safety and bike lanes on Fountain. This area is currently far too dangerous for pedestrians and cyclists. Drivers don't pay attention and straight up harass cyclists on a daily basis for just trying to survive on the road. Moving forward with this project will make everyone's lives safer, including drivers.

As a local resident I highly support the plan to add better sidewalks and bike lanes. I often used to commute on my bikes on Fountain but after many dangerous close calls, threats and harassment from drivers I was forced to take a more indirect route. If you make the street safe, more cyclists and pedestrians will use it. I live on Formosa just north of Fountain and I also drive and park in the area effected. Fountain will hopefully have less people from out of the area using it to commute.

I strongly support this. Many of us would like to bike and walk more safely in our neighborhoods (many of us car owners who recognize this!). It’s about making a better West Hollywood, with more balance and create inviting spaces for both residents and visitors. There’s been too many accidents allowed to happen — it’s time for real change and action.

As a regular cyclist in Hollywood and nearby areas, I find it difficult to safely reach the part of Hollywood west of Highland Ave. I often resort to slowly riding on the sidewalks of Sunset or Santa Monica, which isn’t safe or ideal for anyone. Adding bike lanes on Fountain Ave would greatly improve safety and provide better access to one of the most difficult areas in Hollywood to reach by bike.

Fountain Ave has been deadly for a long time. It's unsafe for drivers, cyclists, pedestrians and anyone else who might risk using it. I know of at least one elderly woman who lives along Fountain and is often too afraid to wait for the bus on Fountain because the traffic is so terrifying. We shouldn't be risking our lives simply to use a street when it can safely cater to all modes of transportation.

I support the Fountain Avenue Streetscape project as someone who regularly walks, bikes, and drives along the corridor. It's current design is simply unsafe for all road users, but especially so for vulnerable road users, as the recent vehicular killing of Blake Ackerman tragically reminds us. Please do not wait for this bad design to take any more lives and vote to make our streets safer.

I am writing in support of the streetscape project. I drive on Fountain to get to my office on Melrose. Once you cross La Brea the street turns into a racetrack, there are cars constantly driving dangerously. Furthermore, the majority of traffic on Fountain is cutting from Sunset or Santa Monica to avoid those streets. That is about 20,000 cars per day driving on neighborhood streets making the side streets more dangerous when they would likely stay on their origin street if changes happen
