As a resident of this city and a member of the Weho East neighborhood watch: I stand with Public Safety commission in asking for MENTAL HEALTH EVALUATION teams BEFORE any add'l funds go towards the Weho Sheriff;s dept. it's unacceptable to continually funnel funds to an entity that will not account for the budget being allowed to them by TAXPAYER money

I work with an organization called PivitalEDU with the leading doctors in the cannabis space: the Knox Doctors. They have consulted for the state of Washington on their canna protocol and they have created several training courses similar to ServSafe ( a mandatory training program for restaurant/food service workers) for the cannabis industry.

Here's what we know: at Lowell/Cannabis Cafe- patrons passed out DAILY because they were not familiar with Cananbis use and its effects. Training from area businesses teach SELLING not medical knowledge or safety. Are you aware that there are actions which can remedy the feeling of being 'too high'? There are and this is among what could be taught.

Employees from Calma + Med Men have verified that they either rec'd NO Training or simply SALES techniques- NOT cannabis health and safety training.

IF Weho is to lead in this area- then the MOST significant thing this city can do is implement this program to insure that our cannabis sector and businesses are the most relevantly and thoroughly trained

16 Cannabis consumption lounges are set to open in Weho. Lowell/OG Cannabis Cafe experienced a patron passing out in the cafe EVERY day of its operation, if not more than once a day. As these lounges become more common place, so will these incidences. And this is why: because most cannabis training entails SALES, not safety.

Workers are trained to sell, not about the actual physiological facts about the plant. Did you know that there are ways to have people feel less high, should they consume too much? There are and these are the kinds of things that need to be taught.

PivitalEDU has created 2 training programs: Full Spectrum Smart and CBD smart specifically for dispensary and businesses that feature consumption. Much like ServSafe is a requirement for the restaurant industry; these programs could be a standard of safety, education and knowledge for the cannabis consumption domain.
