I strongly oppose this project. This development removes a space where members of the local community gather to better themselves and support each other in favor of unaffordable apartments and hotel rooms. Allowing this project to destroy a small business and encroach on the surrounding residential area is unacceptable, especially considering Faring Capital has a complete inability to follow through on existing developments.

I strongly oppose this project. As a resident of this neighborhood, I can confidently say we do NOT need another hotel/apartment building. What we do need are the small businesses that have been a part of this community for years.

I strongly oppose this project at 7811 Santa Monica Blvd. I have been going to Brick since its inception, and it provides health and wellness for our community. It has become a staple for many persons living in West Hollywood. We do not need another hotel, especially one developed by a company that has many unfinished projects. The traffic is already horrendous. West Hollywood should continue to promote & support the small businesses that help make our community wonderful and unique.

I strongly oppose this project. Many small business that are vital to this West Hollywood community will be affected in this area. We already have enough unfinished projects that attract unhoused and noise pollution. Pour the energy into something else. This is a NO for me.

My name is Pedro Borges. I am the General Manager of Brick Fitness (7811 Santa Monica Blvd.) and a longtime West Hollywood resident (1021 N. Genesee Ave.). I strongly oppose this project. Brick has been a neighborhood staple for 15 years, serving hundreds of members and employing dozens of people, most of whom are West Hollywood residents. Eliminating an established, community-driven business like Brick is a disservice to the neighborhood we call home.

I strongly oppose this proposal as it will hurt the communities that exist now and will not be beneficial for the area.

I strongly oppose this proposal. Brick (7811SMB) is a staple in the weho community. We should be prioritizing the local residents instead of another failed Faring Capital business venture; We should be protecting small businesses, not replacing them with another vacant lot/building. Maybe FC should use one of the empty buildings they already own instead of destroying an active health and wellness hub, on top of creating unnecessary construction and traffic in an already congested area.

I oppose the proposed hotel and residential development at 7511 Santa Monica Boulevard. This area already has numerous similar projects, many of which appear to be struggling, making the need for another unclear. The current site houses a community gym that provides essential space for connection, mental well-being, and support for local residents. I urge the City to prioritize preserving community-serving spaces.

As a West Hollywood resident I’ve seen the way this gym has helped the community’s mental health. It’s important to maintain a more affordable gym in the area that also serves as a third space.

I oppose the teardown of these structures, especially Brick which is critical to my physical and mental health. We do not need or want another hotel in the area.

I am a resident living within the immediate vicinity of the proposed project at 7811 Santa Monica Blvd. I am writing to formally request that the Commission DENY the requested waivers and require a Final Environmental Impact Report (EIR). Following the precedent set by the Commission on the 8555 Project, I urge you to uphold the law. Do not reward an incomplete land assemblage with excessive waivers. Send this back for a Final EIR and a proper redesign that respects the scale of our neighborhood

I firmly oppose the demolition of Brick Fitness. This gym is an important community space that supports physical and mental health, wellness, and social connection, and it serves as a place where people come together, build relationships, and support one another. Replacing an active, locally used fitness facility with a large mixed-use residential and hotel development prioritizes density over livability and would negatively impact the quality of life for residents who rely on this space.

Do not demolish Brick (fitness facility located at 7811 Santa Monica Blvd). This building is a staple in the West Hollywood community. The city does not need a 7 level mix residential and restaurant building. There are so many buildings with vacancy’s and restaurants closing down due to increased monthly’s cause by big corporations coming in and doing the same. These building do not help the community. What helps the community are places like brick that have brought so many people together!

I strongly oppose this plan. BRICK creates and supports the local community in West Hollywood in a way that amplifies the values that the city wants to embody. BRICK excels at bringing diverse athletes together and helps strengthen a visible fabric of kind and strong members of the community, not only from West Hollywood but it also invites atheletes from far and wide. BRICK does a magnificent job at embodying healthy habits and community values, one athlete at a time, day after day.

One of the buildings is Brick CrossFit, it has been my home and a place for community, friendships and sanity! Look at the number of units available for rent please before approving a new development! How many units have been rented at the new developments like the Charlie? People of WeHo don’t need new developments and erasing more landmarks of WeHo! I moved to WeHo and staying in it because of Brick!

BRICK isn’t just a gym..it’s preventive healthcare, community support, and mental-health infrastructure. If redevelopment is inevitable, the landlord has both the means and the responsibility to ensure BRICK is relocated rather than erased. The city definitely doesn’t need another hotel or condominium complex.

Brick (fitness facility located at 7811 Santa Monica Blvd) is a role model business serving the community on a daily basis. This demolition project would be a step backwards. Please consider Brick’s purpose to empower West Hollywood’s local economy and legacy.

I strongly oppose this measure. Brick is a vital part of the community and small business that West Hollywood should preserve, not demolish. Brick offers fitness instruction for hundreds of members and provides us a safe space to live happier and healthier lives. Please protect Brick.

I oppose this proposal due to its intended use and community impact. Replacing existing neighborhood-serving businesses with a hotel that includes only the minimum number of affordable units does little to meaningfully address the housing shortage. The proposal also lacks a clear plan for displaced businesses, such as BRICK, including temporary relocation or guaranteed return, resulting in permanent loss to the local community fabric.
